We should always be reminded that we are innately good and that we used to be children who, even unconsciously, can appreciate the simplest things.
The mind is a place that springs forth wondrous and powerful things. The petty, mundane things we do supersedes our ability to create a myriad of possibilities of ourselves. Beautiful things come when we embrace what our minds can do and open up to.

This is the very first painting in the series I made for a group show in 2007. I haven't painted anything in 10 years, and this served as my big lunge into getting back to it and claiming it. I admittedly was scared of it, as I kept thinking, I probably don't know how to paint anymore, after a lot of compromises in my life. But I figured, I wouldn't know if I didn't do it.

I guess the burst of colors says a lot about the big jump. I was overwhelmed when I was creating this, and I never made any studies, which has been normal for me. I just went ahead with what I saw in my head and kept painting.

A lot of people wanted to buy this piece, I guess for the reason of it being such a landmark into getting back, I can't let it go just yet. So they ended up having to buy prints* of it.

*I really need to find a good photographer that can take photos of my paintings that'll be suitable for hi-res prints.

This piece of art is very lovely! I especially love the meaning of this piece, that everyone has been innocent once, and that we all have a bit of good in us.
